The Learning Tree Nursery extends a warm welcome to all children, parents and carers. Our role is to provide high quality and flexible childcare, catering for children from two years through to school age.
The nursery is situated in Chatterton, within the area of Ramsbottom and has been established for ten years. We accept children from all surrounding areas.
We now offer our Out of School Care across two centres, with Before and After School Care also offered at Broadway Primary School at Haslingden.

Further to our Ofsted inspection in February 2011, we are delighted to announce that Ofsted declared The Learning Tree to be Outstanding:
We feel this is a wonderful reflection on the hard work and commitment of all of the staff and we are incredibly proud of this achievement. The full inspection report is now available to read or download as a .pdf on the Ofsted web site.
'Step Into Quality' is a voluntary quality assurance scheme run by Lancashire County Council to help childcare providers across the county demonstrate good practice and develop a high quality service for children and parents. The Learning Tree voluntarily undertook assessment, seeing it as an important opportunity for continued self-evaluation and staff development and to ensure that the already very high standards are maintained.
The quality steps cover the following areas; Environment, Interactions, Routines, Key Person, Parents, Leadership and Management. The outcome and portfolio is displayed in nursery and can be viewed upon request. The verfier who reported for Step Into Quality concluded that The Learning Tree was "a wonderful setting providing 'quality' experiences for children."
2008 saw the 10th anniversary year for The Learning Tree. During the previous decade, the nursery has gone from strength to strength, achieving accreditations in Investors in People, Aiming High (Government accredited quality assurance scheme for Out of School Care) and Aiming for Quality (Pre School Learning Alliance).
The Learning Tree opened in 1998 with just 4 children for a few hours a day and we now offer full day pre-school care and out of school care for over 100 children. Our initial youngsters are now working towards their GCSEs and we hope we played an important part in their early development.
On the 10th anniversary in January 2008 we held a fancy dress party for the children and parents and celebrated with cake and games.
The anniversary celebrations were a good time to launch our newly installed safe outdoor play area, shown right. The all-weather surface will allow for continuous provision of balanced activities, both indoor and outdoor, throughout the year.
